Canon PowerShot A1100IS Green - Canon Powershot 14.7mp is Mini but Mighty

The Canon Powershot 14.7mp is the best. It goes any and everywhere. Its features are unlimited. The price $299.00 is great, unbeatable. Pictures and videos are remarkable. I have a Canon Powershot 5.0mp, it still works great. I paid $500.00 for it when it first came out years ago. I am totally 100% happy with my Canon Powershot 14.7 mp. I would recommend it, it is great.

Canon PowerShot SD960IS Silver - No such luck for me.

I want to love this camera so much, it hurts to return it!! For the first time, there is a PS that all controls laid out just right, with all the dials and buttons just like I wanted. But big disappointment:

1. Images are too soft. It did not matter what I did, tweaking it to the max, the G10 produces worse images than my old Canon A620. There is fair amount of noise too at any ISO speed.
2. Shot to shot time is too long. I can probably live with this, but again, I am not happy with the images.

I love how it feels in my hand and the all the features that come with it. I read a lot of reviews and everyone loved it. What's wrong with mine? Was I the unlucky one who got a bad copy?

Canon PowerShot SD780IS Gold - Canon SD780: Finally found the ultimate hybrid camera

I've had this camera now for about a week. The main reason for this purchase is the 720p HD video feature. I've been playing with all the recent point and shoot camcorders such as the Kodak Zi6 and the Creative Vado HD. I also have the not-yet-released-in-the-US Canon SX1 which does full 1080p HD video. I have also tried the Sony T500.

The first thing you'll notice is how small this camera is. To date, its the smallest Canon camera yet almost to the point that its difficult to handle. I'd call it Ultra-compact and this thing can fit anywhere. The button are more flush than any other Canon which makes button finding and feeling a bit cumbersome.

I wasn't expecting much from this camera in terms of performance but it blows all other point and shoot camcorders out of the water. The colors are much more accurate and the video overall is much smoother. Part of this due to the image stabilization feature. The toy cameras do not have this feature which is a huge necessity for something so small and light. It handles low-light situations better as well. Search SD780 on youtube for samples. Make sure you click the HD button.

The photos are secondary to me but they can be good in the manual mode. Using it with higher ISO setting will introduce noise. Then again, these photos are much better than the point and shoot camcorders. These are actually usable.

So with the point and shoot camcorders around the $200 mark (MinoHD, VAdoHD, Zi6), for $80 more (SD780) you get something that is much better overall.

+ Made in Japan and much better build quality than the toy camcorders
+ Removable SD storage card
+ Removable battery (uses the common NB-4L)
+ Image stabilization
+ Usable stills
+ Canon optics
+ Ultra compact (2/3 the size of a MinoHD)
+ Easy to use .MOV files
+ Stealth Black color

The only drawbacks I can think of are:
- Cannot use optical zoom during recording (let's hope this can be changed via firmware upgrade)
- Photos can be noisy and grainy at times
- Mono sound recordings

I like PowerShot Orange A470 Canon

It is almost as small as the Olympus XA2. I bought this camera after my hospital decided to go to a digital camera for wound documentation, after polaroid decided to quit making instant film for its cameras. The camera they decided to adopt was this one. I had my doubts, but after having used it, I really started to like it, and bought one for myself. Canon PowerShot A470 Orange is compact, uses AA batteries, and has a supermacro feature. The only bad thing is that there is no flash, or I haven't figured out how to use the flash while doing supermacro. Without a tripod, and no flash, not all of the shots could be held still enough in supermacro for sharp shots. I finally figured out how to use a LED pen flashlight to provide enough light for faster shutters peeds in super macro handheld shots. The images are clear and sharp. From Amazon I took advantage of the 2 GB SD card for free. I have yet to fill one up. This is the camera that goes with me all of the time. A great camera for not so much dough for those of us that like macro shots.
Great small and simple camera. We bought this camera for our daughter (< 10 year old). So far, nothing to complain about. Very simple to use, good quality pictures, small enough to fit in a pocket. And she has not broken Canon PowerShot A470 Orange yet.
Great deal for the money. I hate to say it, but you don't need to spend a lot to take acceptable pictures. The camera seems to do well in all lighting conditions and I've barely used the special modes. By the way, Canon PowerShot A470 Orange comes with 2 AA batteries and a 32MB card (at least you can take a few shots as soon as you open the box). I bought Canon PowerShot A470 Orange for under $110 with a free 2 GB card from Amazon. Great gift for kids or elderly parents.

Information about Canon SD1200IS Pink PowerShot

Great features, image quality issues. This is my third Canon and i was really looking forward to having all the latest tech updates in this model. However when taking pictures i noticed a certain softness in the focusing and quality seemed kind of grainy when viewed at %100. I compared identical pictures taken to with my old SD700IS and they were noticeably clearer and less noisy. I even compared them at similar resolution with no improvement. I even used a tripod and tried various exposure settings to see if i could make a difference. Maybe its a software thing or they are using different algorithms cause i noticed similar complaints from other users. I might try to order another one to see if Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink was just a fluke. At least i got a full refund. Good luck!
met my expectations and more. I owned an early canon digital and was interested in updating. After doing a lot of research, I settled on another canon. I was looking for wide angle, image stabilization and shooting speed. The SD880 did Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink all as well as provide a wonderful viewfinder. So far, after a month, I totally satisfied with the camera.
Takes expert photos so I don't have to. I asked a professional photojournalist for a recommended camera and found her advice was perfect. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink takes expert photos so I don't have to. I just point and shoot. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink knows to focus on the faces and adjust for indoor lighting. And the photo files are 4mg so I can blow them up big which I sometimes have to do. A cool feature is when taking a self-timed picture, you can set Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink to take 3 photos in a row. This was great for the holidays, taking a family portrait of 15 of us. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Pink increased our chances of getting everyone smiling. A great camera!

Canon PowerShot A2100IS for you

Powershot SX10IS. Very nice camera... This is the best PS camera I have used so far.
Pros: Very good picture quality.
Picture quality is still amazing when fully zoomed.
Does very well with moving objects.
I have not had a single picture with Red Eye yet.

Cons: No camera bag!
Lens cap is a snap on that isnt connected to the camera making Canon PowerShot A2100IS very easy to lose.
Camera sometimes takes a little bit too long to focus and snap shots.

Overall I feel this was a great buy and would buy Canon PowerShot A2100IS again in a second. As stated above, the picture qaulity is amazing and must be printed to see. If you dont want to break into the DSLR catagory then this is a very nice alternative at the top of the Point and Shot lines.
Fantastic Camera. I just received this camera after months of research.I narrowed Canon PowerShot A2100IS down between the sx10 and the fx28. I now know I made the right decision with the sx10. Any bad reviews on this product can only be for three reasons.
they are canon haters, they dont know how to operate the camera, or they received a defective camera. This camera focuses spot on quickly in light or dark areas. The picture quality is close to dslr quality. The movie mode is as good as my sony digital handy cam.The camera feels great in your hands and there are so many options that Canon PowerShot A2100IS is a great camera for photo enthusiasts. Canon PowerShot A2100IS is also a great point and shoot camera if you dont want to get into all of the options. The purple fringing everybody talks about is absent on regular size prints. If you blow them up the pictures look beautiful, with vivid scrumptious quality. If you purchase this camera make sure you buy the 4000 leather case made by canon for it. they go well togeather. Like I said dont listen to the negative feed back. True Canon PowerShot A2100IS doesnt have raw, But I know Canon PowerShot A2100IS will be available on wiki soon for a download. Dont hesitate get Canon PowerShot A2100IS now Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoomyou wont be disappointed.
Terrific Camera. Although the flash did not work on the camera, I did return Canon PowerShot A2100IS and exchanged Canon PowerShot A2100IS for another - no problem! The camera has met and exceeded my expectations! On of my primary drivers in choosing this camera was the 20X zoom - Canon PowerShot A2100IS is absolutely wonderful. The photos are crisp and the settings are many - haven't explored them all yet. The camera is somewhat heavier than I'm used to so I do have to steady my hand in taking shots. I would highly recommend Canon PowerShot A2100IS to others, especially those interested in the zoom feature.

SD1200IS Canon PowerShot Silver line

Everything I was looking for in a camera. I was looking for three features in a camera. I wanted a better than 4X optical zoom, a camera that records quality video (30fps with this camera), and replaceable 2AA batteries. I want to be able to swap out dead batteries instead of looking for someplace to charge them when I am in the woods. I am very happy with this camera. Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver is larger than most compacts and smaller than a SLR type camera. Happy medium.

Checked out in the store, now I want it!. I just saw this camera at a local store. I am looking to replace my Canon S5iS, which has horrible lag time for focusing with a flash... This one did much better in that department; still not super fast, but if you want that you have to get an SLR.

The really cool thing I wanted to mention is the impressive macro feature. The saleswoman held Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver so that Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver was touching my engagement ring, and then so that Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver was touching a key ring, and Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver was able to focus on my ring band and on the key itself that close. That to me is awesome! I use to work at said camera store and played with all of the cameras' features. This one surpassed all of the ones I tested.

Also, Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver has a nice big screen, although a viewfinder would be nice for backup. However that would cut down on the screen size.

Another nice thing is Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver takes 2 AAs, not 4 like my existing Canon. Overall Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver is a great camera- Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver even has manual modes on the dial which is always nice if you know what you're doing with them =)

I'd highly recommend it, but since I don't own Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver yet I only gave Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver 4 stars, incase I am missing a negative...
Nice Camera. I would rather see the worthiness of the product I bought. The money I paid and the quality of product. So , I never expect to have $1000-camera quality from the machine I paid around $200. Comparing apples to apples.

So, Canon Powershot SX110IS 9MP Digital Camera is in that sense much better then the cameras in that range.

Nice looking, good quality point-and-shoot type camera which is good/fast/easy for family use.
I recommend Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver for the people who are not professional photography and would not want Canon PowerShot SD1200IS Silver miss the beauty of life.

Review about SD1200IS PowerShot Canon

All of that I waited. I have this wonderful camera only two weeks in my hand and I must to learn many of their functions, but until now the pictures and videos that Canon PowerShot SD1200IS produces seems to me superb.
I'm very happy with this purchase and also I'm sure that with practice, the results will be better.
Canon Powershot. I think this camera is awesome, the only reason I didn't give Canon PowerShot SD1200IS a 5/5 is because you have to manually lift the flash to use it...other then that I am very happy.
Very pleased!. Purchased around Thanksgiving 2008 for a good $50 less than in stores. Very impressed with the camera, easy to use and makes me look like I know what I am doing. I like Canon PowerShot SD1200IS .

PowerShot Canon A1100IS headache

Canon SD 1100...great point & shoot camera. I went from a Canon 60 to the SD1100. I am a novice at photography but this little camera makes Canon PowerShot A1100IS easy to shoot great photo's both outdoors and indoors. I just came back from a vacation in the Black Hills of South Dakota and took about 75 pictures. All of them turned out great! Even the digital zoom pictures I took of Mount Rushmore turned out great. I love the size (fits in a small case on my belt and feels when shooting and I have large hands.
Great camera!
Excellent for a point-and-shoot, and now an excellent value. Now that Canon and its rivals are offering numerous compact and ultracompact point-and-shoot cameras in the 10-12 megapixel range, the price on this 8 megapixel unit has dropped dramatically. But don't be fooled by the notion that more megapixels is better -- in this class of camera, it's not necessarily true. Unless the sensor is larger, which Canon PowerShot A1100IS generally isn't, you will often not see any difference in the 10 and 12 MP cameras. In fact, you might get more noise. You are also likely to get a longer delay between shots. So if you are buying a high end digital SLR, sure, go for 12, 14, or now even 16 megapixels. But for a point-and-shoot compact, 7 or 8 MP is more than adequate.

This model offers 8 MP, face detection, and a variety of shooting modes that can be easily selected from a menu. Canon PowerShot A1100IS provides excellent results for everyday photography. Canon PowerShot A1100IS is also extremely compact and easily fits in a pocket or purse. If you want a camera to take along wherever you go, this is a must-have. It's also an incredible value, now available for as little as $160-$180.

If you buy this camera, note that Canon PowerShot A1100IS only includes a 32 MB memory card, which holds roughly 10-12 photos. You will certainly want to purchase a good, fast card. The SanDisk Extreme 4 GB works great and will hold over 1000 photos at the highest resolution (1800-2500 at lower image settings). You can now get one for $30-$45. Also, you may want to get an extra battery. Lenmar makes a good Canon equivalent that you can get for about $10. (Beware of no-name knockoffs that cost $2 or $3!)

Overall, excellent ultracompact point-and-shoot camera. Get this item to have with you all the time. (And save up $1000-$3000+ for a high-end digital SLR if you have serious, semi-pro photography needs).
Camera. Selected cheapest shipping method, and Canon PowerShot A1100IS arrived the next day! excelent service and the camera is a replacement for my previous SD 1000, which I also loved. Camera doesn't wash people out and takes excelent pictures for a point & shoot.

A480 Black MP Canon 10 crazy

Great Little Camera. I've owned digital SLRs for many years and I needed a P&S camera to take along for snapshot photos. This camera turned out to be the perfect choice for me. Canon A480 10 MP Black is so small Canon A480 10 MP Black can easily be carried anywhere. The photos are not as good as those from my SLRs, of course, but they are excellent, nonetheless. The point is, I can take this camera anywhere for any occasion and get the shot, whereas I can't and won't do that with the pro equipment.

There are several features I especially like, including manual controls, widescreen mode, time-lapse movie mode, macro mode and a remarkably useable digital zoom. The camera has enough manual controls to satisfy my need for tweaking, especially since I usually prefer the lowest ISO possible with flash forced 'off.' When I shoot in widescreen mode, I can view the photos on my 16x9 widescreen TV and they look great. As a matter of fact, I'm shooting in 16x9 widescreen format pretty much all the time now because of this capability. Digital zoom has changed--no longer do you get blocky images from the camera's blowing up a portion of the sensor's image. Due to the sensor's high megapixel count, the blown up portion no longer looks pixelated as in previous models. It's like having a telephoto lens inside the camera to get those shots at the rare times when it's needed. Macro mode performs so well that flower photos rival those from my SLRs. The camera also has an excellent movie mode, including a fun time-lapse feature.

Previous Canon sensors on P&S cameras were 'use at your own risk' when shooting above ISO 100. This camera's sensor has improved considerably by providing what I would call 'very good' photos at ISO 200, 'good' photos at ISO 400 and 'acceptable' shots at ISO 800. I use noise-reduction software to clean up photos, anyway, but I'm pleased that Canon has improved their sensor and in-camera software.

Couple all of these features with IS, which virtually eliminates shaking and blurry pictures, and Canon has another winner on its hands. I predict sales of this little gem will be off the charts.
Good point and shoot.. This camera was purchased for the Image Stabilization software Canon A480 10 MP Black has. Canon A480 10 MP Black is replacing a non IS camera and so far I am very pleased with its performance.
Meme. I bought this camera for my adult daughter. Canon A480 10 MP Black is easy to operate and takes great pictures. Glad I choose this camera.

Do you really love MP Silver A480 Canon 10 ?

Good battery life, easy to use. I purchased this to replace my 4 year old Kodak Easy Share. My favorite parts about this camera include the Kids and Pets setting, the ability to look through a viewfinder like a film camera, and the excellent battery life. I've been using the same batteries for over two months despite almost daily use of the camera. Some of the menu settings are a little complicated but most of Canon A480 10 MP Silver is fairly intuitive.
Great Little Camera. I am an old film guy who scoffed at digital but decided to buy this camera for my wife because of its "point and shoot" capabilities. The pictures she took on a recent vacation turned out great, and those that didn't resulted from operator error. For those of us who feel compelled to impose our "artistic" selves upon the photos we take, this little camera has enough controls to satisfy. The photo stabilization feature is great for those of us whose hands are not very stabilized any longer. Canon A480 10 MP Silver is also small, unobtrusive and light weight. Not a big old brick hanging on a string around your neck! I recommend this camera to just about any one who is at the beginner/intermediate level and want to create some very nice photos
GREAT CAMERA. [[ASIN:B0011ZCDKS Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom]. This is a great camera for the casual user. I bought this camera for my wife and she absolutely loves it! The new "easy function" mode is great! She even commented on how fast the camera takes mulitple shots compared to our old Sony Cybershot. Also, the full price including s&h was still $30-40 cheaper on Amazon compared to Circuit City and other electronic stores. We only had one slight drawback, the battery life. We used the AA batteries that came with the camera and after using the camera throughout the day from 10 am till 6 pm the low battery light came on. Fortunatley, we had an extra set of batteries and continued to enjoy taking pictures.
Overall, for the price, ease of use, the quality of pictures produce, this is a great camera! Great Buy! Get Canon A480 10 MP Silver and you will love it!

MP Canon Blue A480 Camera 10 Navy ok or not

Canon PowerShot A470. A really great camera, for a first time user. Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue is easy to use although Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue takes a little while to get used to how to operate and select the features. Stay away from the "Format" section - this will delete all your pictures. Also, you will need to buy a new memory card, preferably a 1G, as the one that comes with the camera only holds about 15 pictures. But other than these need to know tips you will enjoy using this camera. Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue will be good to buy a camera case as Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue doesn't come with one and you will need something to protect your camera as you carry Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue around.
Canon Camera- Awesome!. Really great camera. Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue has a big display screen, great photo quality, and is very easy to use. The camera is light and compact, but not so small I would misplace it, and Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue fits well and comfortably in my hand. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a great, high-quality product for an affordable price.
Good overall camera. I purchased this camera with my summer trips in mind. I picked Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue mainly because of the price - I'm not a real camera junkie. I found that on the whole Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue operates very well. The only problem I have is that Canon A480 10 MP Camera Navy Blue tends to get blurry in action shots, or if you zoom in too close. I also found that my sister, who has a Nikon camera, has pictures that are sharper and have a better quality. For the price, though, you can't get a better camera.

Yes.. MP Digital Silver Canon Camera 12.1 PowerShot SD970IS

For the money, the Rebel XS delivers.. **Revised 14 Feb 2009**

(4.5/5 stars)

This year I decided to finally get a digital SLR. The market is filled with excellent choices and early January saw a plunge in prices that has since receded, so I feel like I picked a good time to buy. The downside of having so many options, though, was trying to decide which one was right for me. Not being too familiar with dSLRs, I read lots of reviews and learned the terminology, and after a couple weeks finally decided on the Canon Rebel XS.

Based on what I was willing to pay (around $650 or less), I considered three other cameras before buying this one: The Canon Rebel XSi, the Nikon D60, and the Pentax K200D. I think Nikon has excellent offerings at the "enthusiast/semi pro" level (D80/D90 and D300, respectively) that are arguably superior to Canon's lineup, but I was disappointed by the D60 in general, mostly due to the lack of autofocus compatibility with older lenses. The main attraction of the Pentax is the high build quality with weather sealing, but Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver also sports a decent quality kit lens, a large viewfinder, and internal image stabilization. What concerned me about the K200D was the image quality, especially with JPEGs, as reported in a number of pro reviews. As is the case with many entering the dSLR world, image quality was my #1 consideration. Finally, a word about Live View, which many feel is a "feature of the month" that is perhaps less useful than the hype might suggest. I have personally found Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver to be a useful photographic tool in certain situations, and Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver is notably lacking on the Nikon and Pentax models that I considered.

So, left with the Canons, I considered what I might get with the XSi for the nearly $200 extra. As a beginner I simply wasn't convinced that the additional features on the XSi were worth the extra cash, the image quality the two cameras being basically equal. So I sprang for the XS, got the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens with the savings, and still had some cash left in my pocket. Generally I've been quite happy with my decision. There is a lot of talk about how camera makers "intentionally cripple" their entry-level models, but you're unlikely to notice this if it's your first dSLR. If you pay more for the next step up, you're arguably paying a premium for new technology that you won't even notice or appreciate that much, and will either be commonplace or obsolete in just a couple years. If I had spent more I think I would have skipped the XSi and gone for the 40D, which sports a better build and a nicer kit lens, the Pentax K20D, or perhaps the Nikon D80 or D90. My plan is to stick with the XS for a few years until Canon gives me a compelling reason to upgrade.

So anyway, what is my impression of the Rebel XS after 3 weeks and over 1000 pictures? Very good. Obviously Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver will take some time to make a more complete assessment, but here are my thoughts so far:

The good:

- Image Quality. Period. This is the Canon trademark. The basic JPEG modes are great when you don't want to bother with the creative stuff. The level of sharpness and the color rendition are perfect for my tastes, and can be easily adjusted.

- Performance at High ISO. Most of my photos so far have been taken in low light situations (it's a cold, dark January in Minnesota), and I've decided there's one thing everyone looking at dSLRs should consider carefully: image quality at high ISO speeds. Using higher ISO speeds is extremely useful when trying to get sharp pictures in low light situations (without using a flash). Simply put, in the entry level market Canon outperforms the competition. I've taken a number of pictures at ISO 1600 that look great, especially with the in-camera noise reduction turned on. At normal print sizes the quality difference compared to lower ISO speeds is very minimal.

- Ease of Use. The camera puts all the essential controls at your fingertips. Adjusting ISO, exposure compensation, metering mode, and white balance, not to mention picture styles and autofocus mode, are all quick and intuitive operations with this camera. The only thing that takes a little more time is manually tweaking the white balance, which I seem to do a lot under incandescent light. Also, after activating live view in the menu system, Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver can be turned on or off at the press of a button.

- The camera is small, light, and physically attractive. With my 50mm lens attached, the camera is remarkably compact and very lightweight. Also, having dealt with the lag of compact digitals for years, the responsiveness of this camera is especially noticeable.

- Kit lens. While the 18-55mm IS lens that ships with the camera leaves something to be desired in terms of build quality (and manual operation), the optical quality actually surprised me. I have yet to find a good reason to upgrade.

- Software. The image editing and organizing programs that come with the camera are not the most refined, but they are fairly powerful, and likely adequate for those who don't want to part with another $200 or more for an image editing program. Also, you can control the camera remotely from your computer with live view, which is cool, if not extremely useful.

A few complaints:

- Build/Grip: One of the big reasons I didn't spring for the XSi was because Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver offered no improvement in the way of build quality or ergonomics (besides the marginally better grip material). The downside of this camera's low weight is the plastic construction. Especially compared to a Pentax (which is also plastic but has a metal frame and usually weather sealing), there's a noticeable difference in the way Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver feels in your hands. There are advantages to each approach, but some will prefer a more solid (and heavy) construction. Also, some reviewers complain about the grip. I have relatively long fingers, and while I agree that Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver is a little cramped and awkward compared to its rivals, it's a secure grip and while taking pictures I've never found Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver to be uncomfortable. I have to say that while the build and grip are adequate, they do detract somewhat from the overall photographic experience. I would give more weight to these factors if I were to buy again.

- Canon makes a lot of lenses, and this was a chief selling point for me. However, with time I've realized that Canon has not committed to its APS-C (EF-S) lens system in the same way that most other manufacturers have. Its lens offerings continue to be 35mm/"full frame" -centric, leaving me feeling a bit left out. Just to be clear, you can use EF lenses on your Rebel XS, but the EF zooms have focal lengths that are not ideal for the APS-C sensor size. Looking at the overall lens lineup, there just aren't too many lenses below $1000 that get me excited. This has led me to eye other manufacturers' lens systems enviously, and I continue to contemplate switching systems. Take some time to consider your probable lens needs before committing to a system.

- The viewfinder is fairly small. When dealing with a shallow depth of field in low light and I want to get the focus just right, I often switch to live view to zoom in and focus manually (This is actually very handy). The only basis I have for comparison is my ancient Minolta film SLR that sports a much brighter viewfinder. That said, when I compared the XS and XSi, I didn't really notice the difference between the two. Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver seems that APS-C cameras generally have smaller viewfinders that 35mm/full frame cameras. However, this is an important aspect of the photographic experience, so give Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver due consideration as you compare cameras.

- Slow continuous shooting rate. If you're shooting action (sports, moving animals, etc.) in RAW you'll want to look elsewhere. The JPEG rate (3 fps) is comparable to competitors and has the advantage of being able to shoot until the card is full. In RAW, however, you'll find that the 1.5 fps (for 5 frames) is pretty slow. I don't generally shoot action so this was not an important consideration for me.

Overall: Considering the price of the Rebel XS and the overall quality of the package (image quality and feature set), I'm convinced Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver gives you the most bang for your buck of cameras below $500. This camera is capable of taking very nice photographs, and I find the control layout to be very intuitive. The only things that leave me feeling somewhat unsatisfied are (1) the relatively "cheap" or plastic feel of the camera (2) the grip, which is satisfactory but does not fit the shape of my hand like other cameras, and (3) the lens lineup. I recommend spending some time holding the camera (and others) and researching lenses to make sure the XS will meet your needs. Having said that, the image quality of this camera is excellent, and I am most satisfied by its low-light performance. Furthermore, if you think you'll upgrade in the next several years, I have a feeling Canon will be forced to compete aggressively with Nikon in the enthusiast range, so you can be confident you'll have some good options down the road.

Other options to consider:

In the entry-level market, the Olympus Evolt E420 10MP Digital SLR Camera with 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Zuiko Lens provides an interesting and very cost-effective choice, particularly for those who value small size. To take full advantage of the minute camera, you'll want to consider getting the tiny 25mm pancake lens in addition to the standard zoom. The E-420 delivers on features too, with live view and a good dust control system. The downsides? First, there is no in-body image stabilization, unlike its bigger brother, the E-520 (also a good option). Also, lens selection is limited due to the unique sensor size. That said, the lenses are designed specifically for "four thirds" sensors as opposed to "full frame", and thus have more appropriate focal lengths. More importantly, several of the Olympus Zuiko lenses get rave reviews for their optical quality. A final downside is that the "four thirds" image quality, in particular dynamic range and high ISO, isn't quite on par with Canon or Nikon. However, I suspect that for many people Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver will be more than good enough.

For those who want a more upscale dSLR experience in the entry-level market segment, I would recommend the Pentax K200D 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens. You get a quality build, weatherproofing, a nice viewfinder, and arguably the best built kit lens there is (complete with a nice lens hood!). Make sure you can live with the image quality if you plan on shooting JPEG and keep in mind there's no live view, but if you read owner reviews you'll find very few unhappy customers.

If you're willing to pay more than $700 and can live without more recent features like live view, the Nikon D80 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera Kit with 18-135mm AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens is apparently an excellent camera. Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver is roughly on par the XS and XSi in terms of image quality and apparently very well put together. Personally I would have a hard time putting down that kind of money for an older camera, but keep in mind you get a nice zoom lens (without Nikon's Vibration Reduction, though). If you opt for the body only you could find a nice VR lens to go with it.

Another camera that is currently in the same price range as the D80 is the Pentax K20D 14.6MP Digital SLR Camera with Shake Reduction and 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II Lens. This camera could be categorized more as "semi-pro" or "enthusiast", and is best for those eager to take greater manual control of their camera. The new sensor resolves the image quality issues of the K200D and has greater resolution. Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver has live view, but the implementation is apparently pretty crude. All in all, Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver sounds like this is a very good deal at current pricing and again, you'll find very few unhappy users.

Of course, the talk of the town these days is the Nikon D90 DX 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S VR DX Nikkor Zoom Lens, which by all accounts equals its Canon rivals on image quality and delivers a very nice feature set including HD video. For this, though, you'll need to pay a pretty penny (around $1100). And at that price, you'll want to give full consideration to the well-built Canon EOS 40D 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens, or its more expensive sibling, the Canon EOS 50D 15.1MP Digital SLR Camera with EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens.
Great Camera, Great Pics. I love this camera. Now, I am no expert but I am a picture fanatic and these pics are beautiful. Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver is my first SLR. I've wanted one for a while. And Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver was well worth it. The only thing I wish Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver had was a wireless remote. Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver has a remote that you connect to the camera with a wire, (bought seperatly), and Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver works great. I take alot of family photos, sometimes with me in them, and the wireless would be easier. Other than that, great product, great price, great pics.
Best for DSLR beginners. Like the others (or even you), I've done a lot of researches for the best DSLR for beginners. I've considered nikon D40, nikon D60, pentax K200D, and sony A300. It's true to try the actual camera and see where you're most comfortable with helps, I went to Best Buy to do this.

So why Canon XS, 3 key things that made me decide to get this one:

First and foremost, the price. It's almost the same as the Nikon D40 (other sites offer cheaper kits for d40 but you don't get the VR lens) but more funtions, cheaper than the Nikon D60 and more functions. As compared to pentax and sony, this is definitely cheaper and more lens options.

Second consideration is the fact that there is an adapter available in the market that can be attached to this camera so that Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver will be able to use nikon lenses. Try searching for Haoda.

Third and last is the actual shooting tests. I tried this, nikon d40/d60, and sony a300 at best buy. Used auto settings for all cam and my shots came out best with the Canon XS.

What's the drawback? Sensors were removed in the XS model. Same sensors that is used for the remote shutter or for a flash to work away from the camera. No worries though, there are 3rd pary remotes that can work with the XS so you'll have remote shutter capabilities. As for the flash, you can always mount a flash that can work as the master flash (disabling the light) and have another flash as the slave flash so you have the same effect of having a flash work that is not connected on top of the camera.

I'm really happy with my choice, no regrets. Whenever I pick Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver up, Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver makes me want to shoot anything just to see how great the pictures it'll produce.

Be careful though, once you decide to buy this, spending starts for the accessories (memory, bag, cleaner, lens, etc).

As my friend would put it, 'don't think about Canon PowerShot SD970IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera Silver anymore, just buy it!' =)

Canon Rechargeable Battery CBK4-300 to you

Canon AA Battery recharger. Works great! Best to own 8 AA rechargable batteries so you always have 4 to change out. I love Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery .
Excellent battery life. The batteries included last quite a long while. I took my camera for a vacation trip, taking a TON of vidoes and over 500 snapshots. Even while keeping my Cannon S5IS turned on, with screen, these batteries lasted all day, every day. I only needed to charge Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery once in two days of active shooting, as well as uploading and reviewing time. My only complaint is the charger takes a while to recharge the batteries. Still, these are some of the best batteries i've used with my cannon S5 camera.
Love the Charger. Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery charger works great. The batteries stay charged longer than I ever expected. Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery is a must have for your Canon camera.

Digital PowerShot SD780IS Canon Camera MP 12.1 change

Great Camera. I am not a professional photographer by any means, but am very handy with electronics. I wanted to get a "very nice" camera, but one that I would also be able to use. I purchased this camera the day before leaving to Thailand on my honeymoon. Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera was great, and the pictures (about 3000 over two weeks) turned out great! Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera was easy to use, durable and the pictures came out crystal clear. I read the manual over the 20+ hour flight and learned a lot about the features of the camera. Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera was comfortable in my hands, and I even taught my technologically deficient wife how to use Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera once I was comfortable with Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera myself! The pictures from our honeymoon were applied to my slideshow screen saver on my computer and as my friends looked at them, they thought the pictures looked like post cards, and didn't believe that we took the pictures and figured that the screen saver came standard on the computer!

I will say this, originally I figured that the screen would have live viewing and you would not be forced to look through the eye piece (similar to most point-and-shoot cameras of today). However, Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera was not as annoying as I thought, and I'm not certain if any higher end SLR cameras have this feature (or at least any under $1000). Aside from that, the camera was great, pictures were great, and Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera was easy to use! I'm sure that there are 100's of features I'm not sure of how to use, but if I have up to it, I'm sure that I can figure Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera out. The manual constantly said that it's easier to use the automatic focus options, which I did, and had no complaints!

I would recommend this camera to anyone that likes to vacation, or has children in sports and wants to take great pictures. This camera is one of the most recent to come out. And I cannot wait to get a higher zoom lens and a wide angle lens for Christmas!

Hope this helps to the amateurs out there!
Piece of junk. Had focus issues for the whole three months I used Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera and slowly degraded. Then one day while taking a continuous shot photoshoot, the thing wouldn't go into focus anymore and finally the reflex mirror became loose. You can't do much with half a picture
Great camera!. There are plenty of reviews on the net. Just my 2 cents.
1. Stock battery is great - just came from Xmas party - more than 1000 RAW shots. 1/3 of them - w/flash. Battery is still alive!
2. Live view - not necessary, but great feature. Try to shoot something 2" from the floor or 2' above you. Love it!
3. Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP Digital Camera is lightweight. Your neck and back will thank you!

If you think about Nikon D60 - come to the store and compare them. D60 has better viewfinder, but overall I like XSi more, but it's up to you.

You'll not regret.

Battery CBK4-300 Rechargeable Canon run out

Great Product. I recently bought a Canon S3 IS camera and was pleased to note that Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery uses AA batteries rather than the costly rechargeable batteries I had in my Canon G2 (about $50 per). I didn't however want to go to the expense and bother of constantly having to replace AA batteries. I was delighted to find this rechargeable option and purchased. To date, Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery works great. I can use rechargeable batteries most of the time and have non-rechargeable batteries for emergencies (e.g., trips) Great find and purchase. Good value
Wonderful product, but pricey. This is an absolutely wonderful product if you don't mind the fairly high price. If you've done any research, you already know that there are similar products available for less. I own the Canon PowerShot S5 IS and Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery (and other Canon cameras) run on any brand of AA batteries.

These batteries do seem to have a very long life in between charges. Occasionally I won't have any other choice but to purchase regular batteries when I'm out and I'm desperate and Canon CBK4-300 Rechargeable Battery always seems like they die much more quickly than when I have the Canon batteries in the camera.

Bottom line: I'm very happy with these batteries and you will be too.

MP 12.1 PowerShot SD780IS Canon data

I'd like Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP to be bigger and heavier.. I'd like Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP to be bigger and heavier. I miss the feel of my old Nikon F2.
Lived up to the hype. PROs: I am thrilled with Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP camera. After doing some research for a couple of months between Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP camera, the nikon d80 and the prestigious canon 40d, I decided on the XSi for my needs. Best overall price to my performance needs. Image quality is fantastic, even though the kit lens is at best, good. Going to purchase a 50mm 1.4, 70-200 4L, and a better walk around lens as soon as I get completely sick of the 18-55 IS kit lens, but for now its a good starter lens. Though I honestly think the nikon d80 and the 40d are better cameras for experienced and serious users, primarily I am loyal to Canon (best brand) and the 40d is just too bulky and expensive for me. I don't need all the extra bells and whistles provided by the 40d at Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP point of my life.
If you want a light, easy to use and learn (for first time users), long lasting battery (about 500 images), nice clear LCD and fairly cheap price to performance ratio Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP camera blows out all nikons, pentax, and sony's out there for the beginner/transitioning to intermediate shooters. I chose Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP camera over the 40d because its more suitable for me and most importantly I can use the price difference between the XSi and the 40d to get my 70-200 4L for free basically.

Cons: Again the common gripe over the grip, but honestly its not that bad if you have small to medium size hands. you will adapt quickly as the pro's of the camera immediately mask any cons present. No better kit lens option out yet.

Overall: Fantastic lens for beginner/beginner-intermediate users as the vast majority of professional reviews have stated...

Note: Please get a nice memory card I recommend the 4 or 8GB SanDisk EXTREME III (it's worth the extra $5-10) or any SDHC that is class 6, save a little change for some other lenses as you will fall in love with Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP camera and will be compelled to buy more lenses, and lastly buy some decent filters as you will appreciate the image quality and protection they provide. the RC-1 is a nice accessory. I hope Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP was helpful for you as all the other reviews were helpful to me.
Great Camera For The Beginning Photographer. I'm a photo enthusiast who's been using the Canon XSi for six months now and here are my impressions.

Weight/Handling: First off, the camera is really light. If anyone tells you that this camera is heavy, then they probably never held a full-frame professional DSLR. The light weight makes Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP a joy to carry around when traveling. However, serious/pro photographers might feel that the small weight and size lend to an unprofessional feel. Also, this is a minor point, but the shutter makes a high pitched noise as opposed to more professional cameras that have a low, unobtrusive noise. This camera doesn't have too many buttons, as opposed to Nikon cameras. Rather, many of the more specialized functions have to be accessed through menus. Some people will find this very annoying. I personally don't mind. In addition, if you have big hands, you will have a hard maintaining a comfortable grip on the camera because the grip is rather small. If this is the case, consider purchasing the optional battery grip.

Image Quality: At low ISO settings, the image quality is very good and I actually performed a professional portrait shoot using this camera. The 12 megapixels are enough to get good 8x12inch prints, and in really ideal situations with a good lens, proper lighting, exposure, etc, you might be able to squeeze out 12x18inch prints. At ISO 800 and above, noise does become perceptible and if you use heavy amounts of sharpening, images will appear quite nasty. However, if you stay away from over-sharpening at high ISO's, a small amount of software noise reduction should take care of most problems. Thus, this camera is not very good in situations with low light AND moving subjects, such as parties. For this reason, I am considering upgrading to the 5D for better noise handling. And remember, image quality has more to do with a good lens than Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP has to do with with a camera's megapixel number.

Kit Lens: The kit lens is enough to handle basic photographic needs. My personal copy of the lens is very sharp in the center but you might not be so lucky. The focus ring is REALLY TINY and so if you're a manual focus type of person, you'll want to find a new lens very quickly. Also, if you want to take pictures of your kids playing sports or indoor pictures with lots of moving people, consider getting a faster lens. For sports, I recommend the 55-250 IS, 70-300IS, or if you can afford it, the 70-200 2.8L. For indoor/low-light photography, consider augmenting your kit with a prime lens such as the 50mm 1.8, 50mm 1.4, or if you know about the benefits of the L series of Canon lens, I probably don't need to refer you to any more lenses.

Other Issues: The on-camera flash is almost completely useless for taking pictures of people in dim lighting. Why? Because Canon's engineers somehow decided that they should have the flash fire 5-10 quick bursts to assist the camera's various sensors. Trust me, your subjects will not appreciate your flash firing off like a machine gun in front of their face. I highly recommend an external flash like the 420ex or 430ex if you're getting this camera to solve that problem. Nikon users will not have to deal with the problem.

Overall Impressions: If you're just getting into the world of DSLRs or you're a photo enthusiast strapped for cash (like me), the XSi is a great choice to start out on and with skilled use, its hardware is capable of achieving very good results. Also, by choosing Canon, you have access to the largest selection of lenses. I've taken some great pictures with this camera and I plan to keep Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP around. However, you might also want to evaluate the Canon 40D and the Nikon D90.

10 mp a480 canon powershot and you

I love my new toy!!!. After much research, canon powershot a480 10 mp little camera stood out. The images that come from canon powershot a480 10 mp camera are remarkable. The colors are amazing and I've been playing around with all of the different settings. I took a picture of my dog barking under the pets and kids setting and the picture of him was so clear and sharp. Absolutely nothing was blurred in the shot and the detail in the photo was fantastic! I can't wait to take canon powershot a480 10 mp on vacation with me. Now only if I can get my canon printer to live up to its standards! Excellent Camera - Image Stabilization - Great Price - 5/5. I lost my older SD1100is due to my carelessness and thus had to come and buy another. I refuse to replace canon powershot a480 10 mp with anything else out there. The 1100is is the smallest digital camera with all of the features that Canon provides in this price range. $159 bucks gets you an excellent device with 8mp and image stabilization. Honestly, if you are printing small images 4x6 or 5x7 then 4-5mega pixels is all you will ever need. Canon on this camera kept the 8mp but incorporated some awesome features. My family uses this camera on a regular basis and apart from the occasional red-eye, we have no issues. Did you know that you can actually view the pictures on the camera and remove red-eye before you transfer them to your computer? Awesome feature again. The zoom on the camera and the flash are plentiful and in my opinion do an excellent job for general day to day photography. This is not a professionals digital camera...but I would not be surprised if some of them had one in their bag for occasional light duty work. I wont go into details about what is in the box, etc...as that can be found on the product page. One other thing I would like to recommend, is the EYE-FI SD Cards....we use a 2gb version that allows for wireless uploads to your computer and various image sharing websites....its a must buy. Why I recommend canon powershot a480 10 mp with this camera is that I have seen very little to no battery drain when the Eye-Fi card is uploading images to the computer via our wireless network or from hotspots in airports/McDonalds etc... See my review: http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B001ACXHXE/ref=cm_cr_pr_recent?_encoding=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending Enjoy. Just what I wanted in a small camera. I bought this because I wanted a small digital camera for basic everyday pictures and canon powershot a480 10 mp has been great. canon powershot a480 10 mp takes good shots, is easy to take places (it fits in the cell phone pocket of my purse) and is easy to use. The battery life is awesome, I have only had to charge canon powershot a480 10 mp once in the last three weeks, and I have taken tons of pictures. The only drawback is the memory card that comes with canon powershot a480 10 mp only holds 13 pictures, so I upgraded canon powershot a480 10 mp to a 2G one that will hold hundreds. Love this camera! Have noticed many other people with the same one, and the love canon powershot a480 10 mp too

You know about Canon NB-7L Battery

Very Happy!. Purchased from We Sell Bulk here on Amazon and received the item much faster than predicted delivery date - I only say that because there's always a list and it's often difficult to pick which seller is the one to go with. Anyhow, the battery came in original and undamaged Canon packaging (looks just like the images available in product description). I was not about to buy the cheap knockoffs and was worried that the one I ordered would be any different than the one that came with the camera (damaged item or store return). Well, after a couple charges and hundreds of pictures, I can say that this battery is exactly the same as our original. Canon NB-7L Battery lasts just as long and charges in the same amount of time. Our camera is fairly new so Canon NB-7L Battery was a fair comparison - one battery wasn't all that much older than the other.
Email me with questions: mister_mr_d@hotmail.com
Canon NB-5L Battery Pack. The battery I got has a terrible quality. With a full charge over night (~8 hours), the battery only sustained my SD800 IS camera less than 12 hours normal usage, shot around 20 pictures. Versus to the original battery pack with the camera, the original battery can last over two days normal usage, shot around> 100 pictures. I believe the vendor selling degraded products. I love Canon NB-7L Battery .
Expected Quality. Canon NB-7L Battery is the battery that comes as original equipment with my Canon camera. I need an extra in order to always have a charged battery available when a change is necessary. With the Canon name on it, I expect highest quality.

Powershot mp 12.1 canon sd780is and you

MegaPixels Are Not Everything!. Interface and controls are a little quirky and seemingly not as user friendly as the DSC-W90 I was replacing. I loved the DSC-W90, but canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp quit working properly after 1-1/2 years, and Sony wanted $182 to repair it.

I was particularly disappointed to find that the DSC-W200 camera does not have the capability to superimpose the date on the picture.

If I had canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp to do over, I would have saved some money and bought the DSC-W80 which is probably more like the W90 I liked so well.
Seems to be good for Under Water use. I've had this camera about 3 weeks and I've taken a number of photos with it. Initially I was disappointed in that the on line liturature (including from Sony) all says Macro down to 2 CM, when its actually down to 5 CM (2 inches) and that (5 CM) is stated in the book that comes with it. I use macro a lot in underwater photography and some on land. My previous Sony camera (and yes I flooded it, hence the new one) did go down to 2 CM but the fact is I seldom got that close because (a) canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp tends to scare the daylights out of any creatures that can move and (b) the depth of field becomes almost 2 deminsional - that's just optics and photography. So I usually get further away to increase the depth of field and crop to what I want. So while that was a disappointment the fact is it's of little actual consequence.

I've taken quite a few photos with canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp primarily getting the feel of canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp and learning to use this particular one. My previous camera was a Sony F707 so the small size of this one is a pleasant change. The menus are intuitive and easy to use. Key functions like macro and flash are not menu driven but button driven so changes can be made quickly. canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp takes good photos. The colors are good and the detail is good. The more I use canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp the more I like it. The battery life is very good as was my old F707. I like the ability to delete one, selected photos or everything on the memory stick (or internal memory). For macro (and other modes) the focus mode can easily be changed, via menu, to a spot focus (it has to be in the P setting though to get to that option) and that is a good feature. Other features such as photo size and exposure mode are similarly easily set. The screen is large and can be turned off to save battery life. The optical view finder is small and would suffer from offset if used close up. The difference in battery life when using the screen isn't that much. The view finder is most useful when bright light makes the screen hard to see - pretty much true for all of them.

Lag time, while not that of digital SLR's is OK, not outstanding but good. Start up time is very good and canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp has about a 3 minute time out period so it's not off everytime you get ready to take a photo (very important U/W) and if canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp is off canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp comes on very quickly.

The camera comes with a summary booklet which covers the basics. The full booklet is a .pdf file. The book is OK to good, not great. The info is there just not alwasy that easy to find.

I also bought the marine pack underwater housing to go with it. It's good down to 40 meters and is very compact. Every feature on the camera can be accessed while it's in the housing. I'm a scuba instructor and this past weekend I took canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp to an old quarry that we use as a training facility for diving. The visibility ws OK, not great by any means, somewhat green - the usual freshwater stuff. I got there early and got in with the camera and housing before the students had a chance to kick canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp up worse and took some underwater photos - not expecting much considering the visibility and light balance. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the photos. Other shops pros commented on the photo quality considering where they were taken. The shop owner asked for copies to put on the shop web gallery. I'll be taking canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp down to Cayman Brac the first of next month so I'm certainly looking forward to using canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp there. Incidently the housing is very useful for photography when it's raining or any chance to get wet such as boats, rafting and the like. They're even used in industrial environments because the housing removes any small possibility of the camera being an ignition sourse.

And as was previously mentioned, even the battery charger is compact. The battery is charged outside the camera, good so you have a battery charging back in the room while you're using the other one. canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp is a propritary battery so a spare is a good idea.

I'm happy with the camera. The more I use canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp the more I like it. It's very small, it's very easy to use and takes very good photos.

1/3/08 I've used this camera in the underwater housing for dive trips to Cayman Brac and Panama City Beach, FL. I have not got the color balance underwater to be quite as good as I would like. In all fairness I have not gotten a good strobe for this camera so my experience is using available light or the on board flash. There are times I would like a bit more sharpness for macro shots. I think I was spoiled to the huge lens on the old Sony 707 this replaced. canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp did great on the above water shots.
Love it. I love this camera. The screen is big and clear. I've had canon powershot sd780is 12.1 mp for 2 years and i still love it.

D10 MP 12.1 PowerShot Canon change

By far, the best camera I've ever bought (opinion after 2 months of heavy use). First of all, let me address one of the major complaints about this camera: low light AF hunting. I've never had a digital camera that did NOT have trouble getting its focus in low light. The Canon XTi has the problem, my Minolta digital had the problem and, from what I've read the Olympus E510 and Nikon D60 also have that problem. But with the P5100 there are ways around Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP using the landscape setting.

The other problem, much discussed, is the noise factor. If you are seriously thinking about this camera and like low light photography, as I do, then I would suggest you go to this Flickr link and have a look at how capable the P5100 truly is in low light situations. Noise is not a factor if the settings are correct.

I bought this looking for a camera capable of doing film-like work (or as close as possible)with a very small body. That does not mean I am necessarily looking for razor-sharp resolution (though you do get that with this fine Nikkor lens). I wanted a certain "look" to the photographs that this camera can indeed produce.

No RAW? Who cares! I don't do PS anyway and would rather have an excellent camera that takes great photographs in the first place and doesn't require the use of RAW and hours slaving away over Photo Shop rebuilding a flawed photograph piece by piece. No thank you. If that appeals to you then get the G9 or G10, but don't try to put Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP in your pocket! But if you want what is, IMHO, a better camera and lens to use on site and get Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP right the first time, on location, then this is a better choice. Have a look at this link to see the P5100's low light capability and film-like qualities: http://www.flickr.com/photos/atemzeit/2312242297/
or this:

And bear in mind that this camera does this with 12.1 pixels on a tiny little sensor. How? The secret is the custom application of the EXPEED digital image processing engine. Something the G9 and G10 don't have. You get the advantages of a huge pixel count (on a small sensor) but without the excessive noise found on cameras not possessing such a capable processing engine. And, regarding the G9 and G10, not only is this camera much smaller but the build is far better and Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP has a hard substantial feel, thanks in part to the magnesium body.

If you want to reduce the pixel count on your sensor to increase the dynamic range this camera can do that. Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP can be reduced to 8M, 5M, 3M, 2M or 1M. Also, how many digital cameras these days offer ISO settings of 64 and 100? This one does.

But, for me, all Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP boils down to is this: is this camera able to deliver the look you are searching for or not? If you like what you see when you brouse Flickr then give Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP a try. If you don't like what you see, give Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP a pass. The proof is in the pudding and you can read ten different reviews and everyone says something different. So just go by the results you can see on the net.

This review is my opinion only and, as I said, you can certainly find people who do not agree with me about this. I read many reviews and finally just decided to peruse Flickr to see actual results. So don't take my word for it, look for yourself.
My best purchase ever. I bought this camera, Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP was the best purchase I ever did, I want to thanks every review I read before the purchase, I read one about the slow process when you take a picture, I went "Ohh what I did", I read Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP after I bought Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP and before I received it, but when I shot at 12M with all features at high and with a regular SD card, Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP was quite quick in my opinion, I don't know if he was comparing Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP with another camera, taking videos is good with this cam, and pictures are great, this camera for the price is a most!!! I recommend Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP 100%
LOVE LOVE LOVE This camera!!!. Ok so my last camera was a Nikon 3200 which we loved but the shutterspeed was slow and Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP was just a little outdated. We decided Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP was time for a new camera so we went to the store and ended up with an Olympus 1000 (great sale price). We got home and after we used Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP a couple of times we realy didn't like the camera because many pictures were blurred and just not very clear. So we sold the Olympus and splurged and got this camera. This camera is worth every penny! The pictures are so clear and the camera is actually much easier to use than I thought Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP would be. We took a picture of our ceiling fan while Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP was on high just to see how Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP would turn out and in the picture Canon PowerShot D10 12.1 MP is as clear as if the fan was off. This is an amazing camera with awesome features and my husband and I are both blown away by the picture quality. We can't wait to get outside and use the camera to try all the features.
